The province of Quebec's Department of Health Services has loosened some restrictions on crowds at sporting events and shows, opening the door for the Canadiens to welcome an additional 1,000 fans for Game 3 and 4 against the Golden Knights.
released in French and translated by Sportsnet, the province says indoor and outdoor sporting events and shows can host 3,500 spectators as of June 17 at 12:01 p.m. Game 3 of Montreal’s Stanley Cup Playoffs semifinal series is scheduled for June 18 while Game 4 is scheduled for June 20.
The Canadiens have been allowed to host 2,500 fans since Game 6 against the Toronto Maple Leafs on May 29. Fans are required to be spaced physically distant in sections of 250, with each section having its own entrance and washroom access.
