First, one claimed oversight is that the prevailing view of traditional Ethical AI is a constraining hidden assumption that AI is inevitable. Thus, rather than examining whether AI should even be in the cards for particular kinds of uses and societal circumstances, the predominant position is that AI is coming and we need to get it into the best shape possible.
