On May 2, Health P.E.I. confirmed Beck’s departure, saying he served as a psychiatrist in P.E.I. for 40 years and had 200 patients.

More than half a dozen people responded to a Facebook post asking about Becks’s patients. Everyone said he would be missed and several mentioned concerns about dealing with prescriptions. While the family doctor can renew prescriptions, the patient needs their medications adjusted, they said in a May 3 SaltWire interview.
