Paris Saint-Germain have completed the signing of striker Hugo Ekitike from Stade de Reims. The France Under-20 international, who scored 10 goals in Ligue 1 for Reims last season, was also a transfer target for Premier League side NUFC.
reported that the striker was unsure about the merits of a late move to Newcastle, despite the club reaching a framework agreement with Reims over the fee.
Reims president Jean-Pierre said that Ekitike wanted to be “a little more lasting in the club project”.It has already been a busy summer at Parc des Princes. The club replaced head coach Mauricio Pochettino with Christophe Galtier and have signed Portugal internationals Nuno Mendes and Vitinha from Sporting and Porto, respectively.
There have also been a number of outgoings, with Angel Di Maria, Colin Dagba and Xavi Simons among those to leave.
