The provincial government has issued a request for proposals for an Access P.E.I. in Cornwall. P.E.I. government photoCHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure is issuing a request for proposals to build a new Access P.E.I. in Cornwall.The province said in the 2021 census data from Statistics Canada that P.E.I. had the highest population growth in the country, with an increase of eight per cent.Breaking it down further, Cornwall led population growth with a 22.

“As our population increases, we have to ensure that timely and convenient supports and services are available to everyone,” said Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Cory Deagle. “We are looking for a location that is accessible along our public transportation route and has adequate space to provide coordinated government service delivery to Island residents,” added Deagle.

Access P.E.I. has eight locations already open across the Island, with a ninth opening at Royalty Crossing in Charlottetown in March.
