TORONTO — Voters in Kitchener Centre will head to the polls later this month in a provincial byelection. Premier Doug Ford called the byelection today for Nov. 30.

TORONTO — Voters in Kitchener Centre will head to the polls later this month in a provincial byelection.Laura Mae Lindo, who formerly held that seat for the NDP, resigned in July, citing child-care challenges.

The NDP's byelection candidate is Kitchener city councillor Debbie Chapman, the Greens' candidate is city councillor Aislinn Clancy, and the Liberals have chosen Kelly Steiss, who works in local government. The Waterloo Region Record reports that the Progressive Conservative candidate, Rob Elliott, lives in Keswick, north of Toronto.

The riding has been held at various points in the last 20 years by the NDP, the Liberals and the Progressive Conservatives.
