Parents and caregivers still don’t know if kids will be in the class on Monday.
It would be the second time that CUPE workers, which include education assistants, early childhood educators and custodians, go on strike this month. Education Minister Stephen Lecce has said the government has put forward multiple improved offers and has not asked for any concessions. The Ford government will provide these workers who may not be able to support their child’s learning at home with access to free care for elementary school children starting Monday and for the duration of CUPE’s labour disruption.
