Protests calling for water companies to tackle sewage pollution in rivers and waterways have been held across the UK as part of the first National Day of Action on Water Quality. adavies4 reports from Abergavenny.
The first National Day of Action on Water Quality saw people demonstrating at 12 locations from Edinburgh to Newquay.
Untreated sewage is only supposed to be released into rivers under exceptional circumstances, but the Environment Agency says water companies discharged raw sewage into rivers more than 300,000 times last year.
