The COVID-19 pandemic meant Guenther only appeared in 12 WHL games and seven games at the under-18 world championships this season, but he made the most of that limited opportunity. Guenther scored 12 goals and 12 assists in those 12 games with the Oil Kings, then added four goals and three assists in seven games to help Canada capture gold.
