Larry Giberson, who grew up in New Jersey, was accused of trying to start a chant — “Drag them out!” — at the U.S. Capitol and cheering as rioters used weapons against officers.
Giberson graduated from the Ivy League university on May 30, according to the, the campus newspaper. The publication said the university awarded him a bachelor’s degree in politics, as well as certificates in values and public life, and French.
He lived in Manahawkin in Stafford Township in high school and graduated from Southern Regional High School in Ocean County in 2019. When charged, he was living in Tinton Falls in Monmouth County, court papers show. Giberson started a chant — “Drag them out!” — but it did not catch on, the charges against him said. He then cheered as rioters used weapons and pepper spray against officers.
