The Duke of Sussex has told of how he feels a responsibility to continue his mum’s ‘unfinished’ work in raising awareness around HIV.
He took part in a 30-minute video call with former rugby star and good friend Gareth Thomas as part of National HIV Testing Week.
‘Then add in the fact that my mum’s work was unfinished, I feel obligated to try and continue that as much as possible.supports HTML5 video ‘There’s a way out of it, and if there’s a way out of it and we know there’s a solution, I’m like a typical guy. I just want to help fix things.’ AIDS is the name used to describe a number of potentially life-threatening infections and illnesses that happen when your immune system has been severely damaged by HIV.HIV is usually transmitted through the body fluids of an infected person, and does not survive outside the body for long. The most common way of catching it in the UK is through sex without a condom, but it can also be transmitted through injecting equipment, breastfeeding or during pregnancy.
