The police used an RCMP helicopter and spike belt to stop the suspects

After a lengthy chase, Prince George RCMP arrested two repeat offenders who were driving a stolen vehicle.

On Saturday June 3 just before 6 p.m. police began investigating a report of a stolen vehicle that was sighted on Chief Lake Road heading west. Officers then located the vehicle travelling on the Tear Drop Forest Service Road, where the driver attempted to flee from police. The RCMP helicopter, Air 3, assisted in the investigation by tracking the vehicle, allowing police officers on the ground to set up a spike belt.

“The driver attempted to avoid the spike belt and proceeded to get stuck in a nearby field,” states Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP. “Though the driver of the vehicle tried to flee on foot, both he and the passenger were quickly arrested by police officers. The two occupants of the vehicle, identified as Clayton Angus Middlemiss and Taylor Madison Dodd, are known to police.”Clayton Angus Middlemiss was charged with:Clayton Middlemiss was also wanted on nine outstanding arrest warrants at the time of his arrest. Both suspects will remain in custody until their next court appearance.
