Terik Paracsak and the Cougars host the Kelowna Rockets tonight and tomorrow night at CN Centre
After scoring five goals and two assists in a pair of road games last weekend in Victoria, the 17-year-old rookie leads the league with 12 points and eight goals, two of which came shorthanded.
His offensive dazzle in the Cougars’ 11-2 and 5-3 wins over the Royals earned Parascak the WHL’s rookie-of-the-week award. “He’s a great young prospect for the Cougars and eventually the NHL,” said Cougars assistant coach Jim Playfair. Parascak, a native of Lethbridge, was picked by the Cats in the fourth round of the 2021 draft. He will be back on familiar ice at CN Centre tonight and Wednesday when the Cougars host the Kelowna Rockets to begin a five-game homestand.
The Cougars will have the services of winger Koehn Ziemmer, who was returned Sunday from the Los Angeles Kings camp. The Kings picked Ziemmer in the third round, 78th overall, in the 2023 NHL draft.
