Founded in 1994 by Richardson and co-artistic director Dwight Rhoden, Complexions seeks to break barriers and combine a wide variety of dance forms and dancers in the company’s works. “I think Complexions brings an experience that is new and fresh and daring and approachable,” says Anderson. “If you like bold and dynamic and exhilarating dancing and high-energy performances, and you are interested in seeing how dance is progressing as it relates to tackling issues that as a society we’re discussing – I think this is a great program to come and see how art is intersecting with life.
“When we came back and returned in 2021 with Swan Lake, which is a huge undertaking, it really brought back that magical feeling of being able to share something with someone and appreciating how fleeting those moments can be, how precious that sense of shared experience is,” he says.Article content
