Staff Reports Calie Seay singled to right field in the bottom of the sixth inning to score Carlee Jowers for a walk-off 2-1 Slocomb victory over Ariton in the championship game of the Purple Cat Tournament in Ariton on Saturday.

Slocomb scored in the first inning as Jowers scored on an error during a Nichols sacrifice bunt. Ariton tied the game in the top of the sixth when Caitlyn Webb singled home Molly Snell, a courtesy runner for Madolyn Hudson, who singled to open the inning. Trailing 5-4 after Straughn scored five runs in the top half of the fourth, Slocomb started its inning with a single by Carlee Jowers, who moved to second on an Emma Nichols sac bunt and over to third on a passed ball.

Jowers and Nichols had two hits each for Slocomb with Nichols with an RBI triple. Ward and Baker added back-to-back run-scoring doubles. Calie Seay pitched a three-inning no hitter with five strikeouts. She allowed one unearned run and one walk. Faircloth had a two-run double in the first inning, a two-run single in the second and an RBI single in the third in the four-inning game.
