Australia’s energy grid is facing a precarious summer after CS Energy delayed the return of its troubled Callide C power station in Central Queensland until mid next year.

A change in procurement for the construction of new cooling towers for C3 and C4 were behind the latest delays, CS Energy said.over the future of the embattled coal-fired power station, CS Energy acting chief executive Andrew Varvari said he was keen for the Callide C units to return as soon as possible, but the job had to be done properly.
