Portion of eastern Boas Street in Harrisburg closed for house fire
Calls for a fire in the residential neighborhood came in shortly after 2 p.m., and crews were able to bring in the incident under control within 10 to 15 minutes, according to Harrisburg Deputy Fire Chief Glenn Sattizahn.
All of the building’s occupants appear to have made it out safely, according to resident Ian Hewston. Six people lived in the home, Hewston said, in addition to Hewston’s cat, who was also unharmed. Hewston was standing on the sidewalk holding the cat at the scene. The Red Cross will be assisting the temporarily displaced residents; Sattizahn said he believed the home could be repaired and reoccupied.
