Above average grain volumes led to a strong July for the Port of Thunder Bay
THUNDER BAY — The Port of Thunder Bay saw above-average cargo volumes in the month of July, thanks in large to grain shipments.
"But this year, it was certainly a stronger summer so far on that side,” said Chris Heikkinen, chief executive officer of the Port of Thunder Bay. That trend is expected to continue throughout the rest of the shipping year, according to Heikkinen, which will help propel the port to a strong year.
