Police have caught up with two people, including a Port Perry man, after an alarming dangerous driving incident in Fort Erie involving a Mustang.
Niagara police were trying to arrest a wanted woman May 4 when they spotted a black 2018 Ford Mustang linked to her in the town. The man in the driver’s seat stopped at a plaza and he went inside while the passenger, the wanted woman, stayed in the car.Officers say they refused and the man suddenly accelerated, jumping the parking curb and onto a grassy area.Police did not pursue the car due to public safety concerns.Colin Todd, 38, of Port Perry is charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, flight from a peace officer and obstruct peace officer.
Zeanka Havtur, 29, of no fixed address is charged with break enter and commit, theft of motor vehicle, possession of stolen property over $5,000 and fail to comply with release order. Rodd was returned to Niagara Region to answer to the charges while Havtur will remain in the custody of Durham police.Ctrl+Enter
