Two people are facing charges including forcible confinement in connection with a child abuse investigation in Port Hope.

A daycare provider contacted the Children’s Aid Society with concerns about the well-being of two children. Port Hope police went to a home in the municipality on June 30 and say the kids were removed from the residence indefinitely and received appropriate medical care. They launched a full investigation and as a result, a 32-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman were arrested Tuesday.

Both were charged with forcible confinement x2, fail to provide the necessaries of life x2 and assault with a weapon x2.The names of the accused have not been released.Ctrl+Enter
