“POPSUGAR is about celebrating women and helping them pursue their dreams so we wanted to help however we can,” says founder and president Lisa Sugar. “We will get through this together.”
“Megababe is thrilled to be one of the small, female-founded businesses that POPSUGAR is helping to support during this time," says Katie Sturino, the founder of Megababe."We are a self-funded company, and through this program, this is the first time we have done banner ads. Our team is small but mighty—to have the support and ad impressions pro bono from an industry leader is incredibly meaningful to us.
"As a loyal POPSUGAR reader, it's incredible to see brands like POPSUGAR use their massive scale to support female-led businesses," says Sweat Cosmetics cofounder and CFO Emily Hines."This is a very challenging time and watching POPSUGAR leverage their audience just shows a continued effort of women supporting women."
The donated media placements include a rotation of standard banner ad sizes on the site and mobile, banner placements in newsletters and inclusion in editorial and custom posts. It is a surefire way for these small-businesses to get seen. POPSUGAR has 300 million readers each month and 32 million fans and followers on social media and reaches half of the millennial women in the U.S., according to the company.
“POPSUGAR is about celebrating women and helping them pursue their dreams so we wanted to help however we can,” says Sugar. “We will get through this together.”
