Nearly 80 percent of voters in a new POLITICO/Morning Consult poll think a second wave of the coronavirus is likely in the next year
As governors across the country begin to reopen their states, a new POLITICO/Morning Consult poll shows that large majorities of voters favor continued social distancing to stop the spread of the coronavirus and expect a second surge of cases in the next year.
President Donald Trump released his guidelines for reopening the U.S. about two weeks ago, and some governors followed with plans to open businesses like restaurants, tattoo parlors, hair salons and more. But only 19 percent of voters believe social distancing will end in the next two months, the poll shows.
