As a resident of the Philadelphia area, it’s impossible not to be familiar with the horrors and sadness of the country’s opioid crisis.
The Kensington section of Philadelphia, once known for its working-class roots and the filming locations of the houses and boxing gym of the fictional and iconic Rocky Balboa, has become one of the worst places in the city and country. Kensington is “ground zero for the opioid epidemic.” And it’s a crisis that the majority of the country thinks is worsening.
The poll showed that 29% of respondents felt that the “opioid problem has stayed about the same.” Only 18% of people believed that the epidemic had improved. The results are another scathing indictment of the public’s perception of Biden’s failures as president and his inability to protect the country’s people.
Last year, the country set a record for drug deaths, with nearly 110,000 dying because of drug abuse. Fentanyl, a synthetic opioid, is a significant factor in the number of overdoses, Rasmussen reported. And, given Biden’s weak actions on the border, where United States Customs and Border Protection officers continue to make a record-breaking amount of fentanyl seizures, it’s not shocking that so many people think the opioid crisis is getting worse under Biden. And given the repeated failures of his administration on border security, it’s probably shocking that only 42% think the problem has deteriorated.
At this point, why would any objective person realistically support Democrats or President Joe Biden?
