The Special Investigations Unit (SIU) is investigating the death of a 44-year-old woman who fell from a balcony while attempting to scale down a Toronto apartment building. Police were called to the scene for a “wanted person” and spoke to the woman before the fall.

The province’s police watchdog is investigating the death of a 44-year-old woman who investigators say fell while attempting to scale down a Toronto apartment building early Monday morning. The Special Investigations Unit (SIU) said the incident occurred shortly before 2 a.m. at an apartment building near Bloor Street West and Keele Street. According to preliminary information provided by police, officers were called to an apartment at 100 High Park Avenue in relation to a “wanted person.

” Police said officers spoke to a woman who attempted to scale down the balcony of an apartment. The woman, police said, fell and was located on the ground by officers. The SIU did not say whether the woman who fell was the person who was wanted by police. Four investigators and two forensic investigators have been assigned to the case, the SIU said, and a post-mortem is scheduled for Wednesday. The SIU is an arm’s length agency called in to investigate whenever police are involved in a death, serious injury, allegations of sexual assault, or the discharge of a firearm
