Police are looking to identify two people after a man was left with a serious head injury following an assault in Blackpool.
Officers were called to Central Drive at 5.33pm on Saturday after receiving reports that people were fighting. When they attended they found a man in his 20s with a serious head injury. He was taken to the Royal Preston Hospital and remains in a serious but stable condition, police have confirmed. .Detective Inspector Steve Montgomery, of Blackpool Police, said: "This happened on a busy street in the middle of the day where there were lots of people and traffic around. I believe that the man and woman in these images may be able to assist in our enquiries and would appeal for anyone who saw what happened or anyone with dashcam footage of the incident to come forward.
Police arrested a 36-year-old man at the scene and he has since been charged. Paul Atherton, of Knowsley Crescent, Thornton Cleveleys has been charged with Section 18 Wounding, Section 47 Wounding, two Section 39 Assaults and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.If you know who either of the people in the images are, have any information or if you saw what happened, call 101, quoting log number 1127 of June 25.
