Surrey RCMP believe a fight broke out at a park among a group of youths.

RCMP say shortly before 7 p.m. that they received a report of a stabbing at a park in the 6400-block of 123rd Street. Police found a youth suffering from a stab wound. Police believe a group of youths were playing basketball and lighting off fireworks in the park. There was allegedly a confrontation over the fireworks involving two additional unknown youth suspects. The interaction turned into a physical altercation between multiple parties and one youth was stabbed.

The suspects are described by police as South Asian between the ages of 15 and 17. One was wearing a grey hoodie and the other a black hoodie. Both suspects were wearing COVID-19 masks, according to police. One of the suspects may have sustained injures as a result of the altercation. Police have been speaking with witnesses and gathering any CCTV footage in the area. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502.
