Councillor John Filion and his partner, CBC Radio host Anna Maria Tremonti, were at home April 4 when someone shot multiple rounds at their property near Yonge Street and Parkview Avenue, striking the garage and a vehicle

. The shooting came a few weeks after Mr. Filion was attacked “with an unknown object” after answering the door to a stranger around 8:30 p.m. on March 13.

Councillor Filion, who has represented the area for nearly three decades, has said he believes the attacks are connected to his position. He has declined to elaborate, saying he does not want to compromise the investigation. After the latest police update, Mr. Filion announced a news conference for Wednesday evening, then promptly cancelled the event.

In an e-mail statement Wednesday, Mr. Filion noted that his decision to cancel his media conference was based on “professional advice from members of the Toronto Police Service and City of Toronto staff.”The new video footage shows a man walking to and from the home. The sketch shows a white male with a goatee. Police said the suspect should be considered armed and dangerous.
