THUNDER BAY — Police are reaching out to the public to identify more potential victims amid a sexual assault investigation in which the victim was a youth.
That's when the police service's child abuse unit learned of allegations that a 20-year-old Thunder Bay resident had allegedly used social media to meet a youth online, supplied the youth with alcohol, and then sexually assaulted the person. As a result of an ongoing investigation by the cyber crime unit, Hymes now also faces charges of possession of child pornography, accessing child pornography, and possession of child pornography for the purpose of distribution.
