The panel found she 'gave the impression she was working from her police vehicle to avoid getting into trouble'

A Northamptonshire copper has been sacked after working from home without permission and then lying to her sergeant about were she was. PC Amelia Tilley went home on Saturday, November 13, 2021, when she should have been out on patrol.

She then failed to tell the truth to her sergeant who asked where she was for part of her shift. Her conduct left PC Tilley facing a charge of gross misconduct at disciplinary hearing was held by Northamptonshire Police on June 20-21. The officer faced three charges, which included failing to be diligent in her duties as a Local Response Officer by not being visible and on patrol, not obtaining her supervisor’s permission to work from home for part of her shift, and not being honest with her Sergeant when she asked where she was.
