A number of bottles were thrown at police
One police officer was injured while numerous others had bottles thrown at them during anti-social behaviour at Crawfordsburn beach.
Neighbourhood Inspector David McClements said: “We saw significant numbers of visitors and while the vast majority were respectful of the local area there were a number of young people who left themselves in a vulnerable position due to the over consumption of alcohol. “Thankfully there were no serious incidents, however we are, of course, mindful that that this unacceptable behaviour was upsetting for others – from local residents to dog walkers and those who genuinely love this natural space. The police have also called for parents and guardians to know where their children are and what they're up to. They said officers will continue to proactively patrol local beauty spots.
