Police have confirmed that shots were fired on a street in Oldham last night after residents reported hearing a 'loud bang'.
Following investigations and after forensic officers scoured the area, the force issued an update this afternoon. It has now been confirmed that a firearm was discharged.An investigation into the incident is underway. Residents reported seeing a 'large armed response' at the scene last night from around 6pm.
Another said that a car was spotted 'driving away at speed'. She told the Manchester Evening News : "A car was seen driving off at speed. I was well scared. Was just getting my Friday night chippy and that happened.
