Police issue dozens of tickets, warnings to Foothills industrial area street racers yyc
On Friday and Saturday evening, officers were in the Foothills industrial area near 76th Avenue and 68th Street S.E. Officers set up roadblocks and barricades on some streets, patrolled parking lots and traffic and identified several unsafe vehicles and driving offences, issuing several violations, including:51 warnings for various traffic offencesTwo outstanding warrantsAdditionally, one person was criminally charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle for allegedly driving more than 100 km/h over the speed limit, and another was handed a racing charge with a 24-hour vehicle seizure.
