Bay Roberts RCMP officers responded to the report of the fire around 5:30 a.m. Saturday. When officers arrived, the building was engulfed in flames.

Bay Roberts RCMP is investigating an early morning fire on Dec. 24 at the former Lions Club building in Shearstown. ContributedBAY ROBERTS, N.L. — Police are investigating an early morning fire on Christmas Eve at the former Lions Club building in Shearstown.

The blaze destroyed the vacant building. Anyone with information about the incident or any suspicious activities leading up to the fire is asked to contact Bay Roberts RCMP at 709-786-2118 or tip anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
