Hundreds of demonstrators face police in French city of Nantes as revived Yellow Vest protests take place across the country
A protestor lays on the ground as French police use water canon during an anti-government demonstration called by the Yellow Vests movement in Nantes, Western France on September 14, 2019.
Police responded with tear gas after some protesters threw projectiles. A spokesman with the local prefecture said 21 people had been arrested. The Gilets Jaunes protests, named after motorists' high-visibility jackets, began over fuel tax increases but morphed into a sometimes violent revolt against Macron and a government they see as out of touch.
