"We do support lawful and peaceful protests," Palmer said."What we will not put up with is violence and hatred or crimes against other people. There's no criminality, no violence, no unlawfulness allowed." Deputy Chief Vincent Richer said police began putting more officers on the ground on Oct. 1 this year and will continue that approach for the next 24 days.
Demkiw said there will be three police command posts in Jewish neighbourhoods, and a fourth will move between various mosques across the city.
