The body was located in a field near a Tacoma church. Despite life-saving efforts by police and firefighters, the Tacoma Fire Department declared the woman was dead.
The woman's body had life-threatening wounds, which prompted the initial homicide investigation, police said on social media. On Saturday afternoon, Tacoma detectives identified a 30-year-old man suspected of the homicide.
