A pod of orcas swam right beside the vessel between Victoria and Vancouver.
People on a BC Ferries vessel were dazzled by a special encounter with a pod of orcas over the weekend.
A video filmed nearby the boat shows the pod swimming in Active Pass, on the 1 p.m. Sunday route between Victoria and Vancouver . Salish Sea Orca Squad, a non-profit organization that raises awareness about orcas, shared the video on social media. People on the BC Ferries vessel can be seen crowding together on the upper deck to catch a glimpse of the whales surfacing. Four whales and a calf appear to be swimming beside the vessel. Salish Sea Orca Squad has identified the orcas as T049As, a family of Bigg’s killer whales. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Salish Sea Orca Squad
