State-owned Philippine National Oil Co. intends to transform its 19.2-hectare property in Mabini, Batangas into an integration port in preparation for offshore wind power development in nearby service contract areas.
Last month, the PNOC board adopted a new vision and mission statement and as well as new strategy map for next three years. The operative word is to complement. Also, PNOC is keen on becoming an energy aggregator to serve the electricity demand of government agencies. “The number of four-wheel EVs is less than 1,000. We believe it may be a chicken and egg situation. Car buyers are waiting until they can see more charging stations along the highways and entrepreneurs are hesitant to invest in charging stations because of the low number of EVs. PNOC can be the first mover just to start the ball rolling.”
