ST. JOHN'S, N.L. — The St. John's International Airport is reporting that a charter aircraft overran the runway during takeoff late Wednesday afternoon, May 1, 2024.St. John’s International Airport advises the travelling public of potential delays to flight operations for Wednesday evening, May 1, 2024. A charter aircraft overran the runway on takeoff late this afternoon. There are no known injuries to passengers or crew.
It stated in a news release that earlier in the day, a De Havilland DHC 8-400 aircraft operated by PAL Airlines overran the runway on takeoff. The TSB also said there were no inuries to passengers or crew reported. The TSB said its investigators will be gathering information and assessing the incident which forced the closure of the impacted runway and impacted operations.The incident has forced the closure of the impacted runway and operations are being assessed.— St. John's Airport
