Pilot to bring strep, flu, COVID testing to Alberta primary-care clinics yyc
The pilot is giving some Alberta clinics, including ones in Calgary and rural areas, access to diagnostic testing kits for viruses including influenza A and B, RSV, strep and SARS-CoV-2. “Post-COVID, other types of testing can be taken into the community and closer to patients,” said Ivy Parks, president of BD’s Canada operations. “If COVID taught us something, it’s that it is possible to bring diagnostic testing into the hands of patients and their direct caregivers.” The testing program includes some rural areas where patients seeking a diagnosis may otherwise have to travel out of their community, Parks said.Article content
