The lot codes on the recalled products are 8 292, with a"best if used by" date of April 19, 2020 and a UPC item code of 0 5150022241 6; and 8 293 with a"best if used by" date of April 20, 2020 and UPC item code of 0 5150022241 6.Hometown Food Company urged consumers to either throw out the flour subject to recall or return it to the store where it was purchased. The company is offering replacement coupons for the recalled flour.
The Food and Drug Administration also used the recall as a reminder to people not to eat raw dough when making cookies and other items. This is a good reminder of why you should never eat raw dough when making cookies, etc. Flour, regardless of brand, can contain bacteria that cause disease:
