Pierpaolo Piccioli Is Leaving Valentino

The creative director has been at the helm of the Italian house since 2016.

Pierpaolo Piccioli is stepping down from his post as creative director at Valentino. A successor has not yet been named, but according to the brand, an announcement will be made soon. Piccioli has helmed the Italian fashion house since 2016, evolving founder Valentino Garavani’s vision with singular grace, intellectualism, and technical skill. He started at the label in 1999, first working alongside Maria Grazia Chiuri in accessories.

As Piccioli said in an Instagram post today, “I’ve been in this company for 25 years, and for 25 years I’ve existed and lived with the people who have woven the threads of this beautiful story that is mine and ours. Everything existed and exists thanks to the people I met, with whom I worked, with whom I shared dreams and created beauty, with whom I built something that belongs to all, and that remains immutable and tangible.
