From Bond to the Belmont Road
East BelfastThe former James Bond actor is currently in the city filming his new feature, The Last Rifleman, which tells the tale of a World War Two veteran escaping a care home in Northern Ireland in order to attend the 75th anniversary in France.
Today the production was taking place at the Belmont Cafe on the Belmont Road where some people gathered to catch a glimpse of the actor in between his scenes.His co-star, Academy Award-winning actor Louis Gossett Jr was also seen waiting outside of the cafe reading his script. The film, inspired by true events, is supported by Northern Ireland Screen and is being filmed in NI and the Republic of Ireland. The Last Rifleman is directed by Belfast native, Terry Loane, who is known for his film Mickybo & Me.
Loane also wrote In The Land of Saints and Sinners, a film starring Liam Neeson, Ciarán Hinds, and Colm Meane which was recently filming in Donegal. Over the past few weeks Pierce has been spotted in various venues in and around Belfast, including the
