With demand up this year, he and board chair Catherine Cougias have been searching for months for a better location. The Provincial government invested $245,000 to help the Pictou West Food Bank relocate to the more accessible building where it can better meet community needs. Last week, MacDonald and Cougias showed off the new space to Premier Tim Houston, Pictou Centre MLA Pat Dunn and Pictou West MLA Karla MacFarlane.“We didn’t think it would ever happen,” she said.Not only does it provide increased room for the work they’re already doing, but they said it offers options for the future.
