The City of Pickering is offering help for pet owners this weekend. Pickering Animal Services (PAS) is hosting another low-cost rabies vaccination and microc
It is in partnership with the Durham Region Health Department and Millennium City Veterinary Hospital.
“As responsible pet owners, it’s our duty to create a safe environment for everyone in our community – both people and pets,” said Lindsey Narraway, Supervisor, Animal Services. “By keeping your pet’s vaccinations up-to-date and ensuring they’re microchipped, you not only protect their health, but ensure if your pet goes missing – there’s a greater chance you’ll be reunited.”
The clinic will run November 16 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Chestnut Hill Developments Recreation Complex at 1867 Valley Farm Road in the O’Brien Room.PAS says vaccinating pets against rabies prevents them from contracting the disease if they encounter a rabid animal A micro-chip is a form of identification that carries a unique ID number, significantly increasing the changes that a lost pet will be reunited with its owner.
No appointments are necessary and if you are going, you can park near the arena entrance at the back of the building.
