In Physical, Rose Byrne plays Sheila Rubin, a burnt-out housewife struggling with a disenchanted outlook on life who takes out her frustrations via an eating disorder she hides from her husband and others. While doing what she can for her family, Sheila reaches a tipping point when she discovers aerobics, a new outlet that allows her to escape her current monotony. While her husband, Danny Rubin, pushes forward with a less-than-noble political agenda, Sheila takes it upon herself to begin a darker journey to start her new life by any means necessary. Managing the business will be difficult for a woman in the 1980s, an obstacle Sheila intends to overcome.
