Once the city’s 2023 budget is approved by council, staff will expand the photo radar camera program with the goal of reducing risk for the most vulnerable road users. Two of the new camera locations are near public parks frequented by pedestrians. The criteria to determine what parks the cameras should be near include “park classification, collision history, roadway classification, speeding issues, pedestrian activity and proximity to schools.”Article content

In addition, five locations are pending Hydro Ottawa reviews and inspections to confirm they have appropriate on-site power supplies.
