How one photo looks from the past to the future.

This is a photo taken last Saturday night at Revs North Burnaby. I was raised in the '60s in this area, and Revs Bowling was always a fixture and soon a fond memory.

This photo was taken with a very long exposure — six-and-a-half minutes — with the help of a 10-stop n.d. filter This was enough time for my son Justin to paint the bowling pin with a flashlight while slowly moving in random circles to avoid capture in the final image. This also allowed the SkyTrain to be captured as well.

The photo seems to capture this retro sign, a little out of step for today, while the streaks from the train are pointing towards the Brentwood development — progress, I guess.📢 SOUND OFF: Do you have memories of Revs Bowling to share? Are there stories and moments that will remain beyond the bowling alley? Share your stories — send us a letter.
