I firmly believe most people aren’t lying to you out of malice. They have bills and responsibilities, and like you, they’re adulting, and unless they are a trust fund baby, they need money to live. So it only makes sense that they’ll present the most idealized version of themselves, even if it’s for a job they don’t really want.
