Tournament at Uplands will be played Sept. 18-21

Swinging into spring will be replaced by putting into fall for the Victoria Open presented by the Times Colonist as the pro tournament’s traditional June dates will be switched to Sept. 18-21 next year at Uplands Golf Club.

The 2025 PGA Tour Americas begins in March with the six-tournament Latin American portion with tournaments in Argentina, Brazil, Ecuador, Peru, Mexico and Colombia. The North American portion will be 10 tournaments, nine in Canada and one in the U.S., beginning July 3-6 with the Explore New Brunswick Open at Mactaquac in Fredericton. The season will culminate with the Fortinet Cup Championship on Sept.

“While it was nice always to kick off the of the season in June, it was the first stop and people hadn’t heard of many of the players yet and didn’t know much about them. In the 15th week, in September, they will be known quantities coming into Uplands. We will know who’s close to making the Korn Ferry Tour and will be helping decide the 10 players heading up to Korn Ferry.”

The Victoria Open previously had one September date in the 1980s at Gorge Vale and during the pandemic-delayed 2021 season at Uplands.
